Bangor Defeated by Kalamazoo, 5-1
|
Kalamazoo Comets starter Stuart Blankenship found his groove in his team's 5-1 win over the Bangor Lumberjacks. Kevin Martinez earned the save for Kalamazoo, his 2nd. Bangor now has a record of 6-9.
Kalamazoo used a well-timed hit by Joe Deutsch to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Comets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Blankenship told the Kalamazoo Daily News.
