Barrie took on Columbus in front of a lively crowd.

Barrie second baseman Josh Gillespie contributed significantly to his team's 16-7 win over the Columbus Bowsers. Gillespie went 3 for 6 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Admirals. Isaiah Singletary was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was Carlos Corona.

Barrie grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Gillespie hit a grand slam home run off Armando Botello. His 2nd home run of the season put the Admirals out in front, 7-3.

"Glad to get this win," said Gillespie. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."

The win gives Barrie a record of 4-3.
