The Atlanta Aggies opened their 2024 season with a disappointing 10-9 loss to the Mexico City Aztecs at Aggies Ballpark. Catcher Brent Mallinson was a big part of the win for Mexico City. He was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Mexico City pitcher Hunter Saakadze earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Jonathan Johnson suffered the loss.

David Keith was 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk for Mexico City. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 9-9 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jonathan Johnson. It was his 1st walk of the season.
