The Deltaville Deltas could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Rod Montalvo into a win. Instead, the Glace Bay Miners prevailed, 5-3, in 10 innings. Montalvo threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Glace Bay reliever Antonio Martinez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Jim Unknown absorbed the loss. Cory Crabtree collected his 19th save.

Kevin Sevener came through with a big-time hit for Glace Bay. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Sevener.

The losing skid has reached 10 games for Deltaville.
