The St. Catharines Blue Jays picked up a win at Engineers Ballpark, knocking off the Kansas City Dust Devils, 2-1, in 14 innings. Starting pitcher John Huber played a key role in the triumph. John Wilgus, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. The 4th-place Dust Devils now sit at 57-79.

Batting in the bottom of the 14th, 26-year old shortstop Dwayne Cook had a real shot to win the game. Kansas City pitcher Jim Unknown was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Cook hit a run-scoring single. The Blue Jays had a walk-off triumph.

"We did just enough to win," Cook said.
