Ferhat Chiwocha pitched well, but the Fremont Ambassadors still lost the game, falling, 2-1, to the Kansas City Dust Devils at Ballpark of Fremont. The winner was Kansas City reliever Frank Stroud, now 5-7. The loser was Ferhat Chiwocha. Earning his 21st save of the year was Jim Brooks.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Tony Sylvester to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dust Devils on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Sylvester called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The win makes Kansas City 70-66.
