Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks and Glace Bay Miners.

The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks faced a tough opponent in Glace Bay pitcher Larry Weese, but still scratched out a win at Miners Memorial Park by a final score of 6-5 in 10 innings. Weese went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Juan Santana, now 6-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1.

Grand Rapids used the timely hitting of Caleb Herd to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Jet Hawks on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Herd told the Grand Rapids Citizen.

The Jet Hawks raised their record to 96-37.
