Fading Ambassadors Lose 6th Straight
|
Eddie Goni knocked in 3 runs to help Cottage City beat Fremont, 7-3. Goni produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Juan Rodriguez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-7. Joe Ault was tagged with the loss. The Ambassadors have now dropped 6 straight.
Cottage City used the timely hitting of Bobby Burm to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cannonballers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Goni told a Cottage City Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
