Rodriguez Helps Miners Beat Cannonballers, 8-1
|
Behind a fine performance from Willie Rodriguez, the Glace Bay Miners knocked off the Cottage City Cannonballers, 8-1. Rodriguez was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Miners. Glace Bay is 85-38 and Cottage City, with the loss, 36-87.
With Glace Bay leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Rodriguez hit a fastball from Chris Nagel for a solo home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 2-0.
"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Cottage City manager Justin Eaglin.
