Kansas City Pockets 2-1 Win Over St. Catharines
|
A good time was had by all at Kansas City Grounds, where the St. Catharines Blue Jays and Kansas City Dust Devils tangled.
The Kansas City Dust Devils got a marvelous performance from pitcher Joey Russak. The right-hander kept the St. Catharines offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Kansas City victory at Kansas City Grounds. Dave Romero, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
Had Josh Randel not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Randel hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Dust Devils.
"Joey just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Kansas City manager Jaden White.
With the win, Kansas City goes to 25-33, while the Blue Jays fall to 28-30.
