Jet Hawks Get Clutch Win Versus Newark
|
Grand Rapids and Newark slugged it out for in 10 innings. Jonathan Lamas, in particular, was outstanding. The Grand Rapids right-hander helped his team knock off the Flyers, 2-1. With the win, Grand Rapids upped its record to 32-19.
Grand Rapids needed the clutch hitting of Ben Porter to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Jet Hawks on top, 2-1. For the game, Porter had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We were determined to pick up this win," said Porter.
