The rain did not keep Huntsville and Santa Rosa from finishing their game.

Huntsville turned a fine outing from starter Mike Bruce into a victory over the Santa Rosa Desperados at Ballpark of Austin. The final score was 5-1. The Northern A West Division-leading Rockets have a record of 33-17.

David Hidalgo had a big 3-run home run for the Rockets in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Huntsville leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Blom and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Rockets on top, 5-1.

"We took home the win," said Bruce. "What's not to like?"
