Victors Again, Glace Bay Win Streak at 8

Though he had a terrific game, Jonathan Avenell could not prevent his team, the Deltaville Deltas, from absorbing a loss. Glace Bay won the game, 5-3. Avenell went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Cory Crabtree was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The Northern A East Division-leading Miners are 35-15.
The Miners got a big hit from first baseman Kevin Sevener. Facing Deltaville pitcher Jim Unknown in the bottom of the fifth, Sevener pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 4th home run of the season put the Miners ahead, 5-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Sevener said.
