Ambassadors Topple Capitals, 5-3

The Fremont Ambassadors had to overcome a fine effort from Tampa pitcher Aaron Kent to win, 5-3, at Capitals Ballpark. Kent went 7.1 innings and allowed 5 runs. Reliever Jeff Maggard picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Aaron Kent, who leads the N-A in quality starts with 6, took the loss. Brian Joiner earned his 9th save, after closing out the game.
Fremont used a timely hit from Andy Mosher to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ambassadors ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
Fremont manager Dave Sullivan commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
At 23-20, the Ambassadors claim third place in the Northern A West Division.
