Tynes Excels, Fremont Blows Out Tampa
The Fremont Ambassadors routed the Tampa Capitals, 13-3, at Capitals Ballpark. Tim Tynes was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Fremont. Carlos Ochoa picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 6 in 6 innings. Picking up the save was fireballing left-hander Taylor Rowe.

Henry Nunez had a big bases-clearing double for the Ambassadors in the top of the fifth inning. With Fremont leading 6-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Jim Unknown and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ambassadors ahead, 9-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Nunez told the Fremont Bulletin.

Fremont now owns a record of 22-20.
