Rockets Win at Grand Rapids, 6-4
The Huntsville Rockets withstood an impressive performance by Grand Rapids third baseman Joe Moreno to defeat the Jet Hawks, 6-4, at Jet Hawks Ballpark. Moreno was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Earning his 6th save of the year was Rich Sargent. The Rockets improved their record to 17-23 by beating Grand Rapids.

Huntsville used the timely hitting of Ken Hippler to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rockets ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In postgame comments to the Huntsville Gazette, Hippler said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
