The Glace Bay Miners defeated the Huntsville Rockets, 10-2, at Miners Memorial Park. Glace Bay was led by 23-year old second baseman Patrick Gentry, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Roberto Alcaide got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Rockets to 1 run on 1 hit over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The defeat makes Huntsville 21-18.
In the bottom of the first, with Glace Bay leading 1-0, the Rockets allowed the Miners to go up, 3-0, on a base hit and Huntsville error.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo.
