Tampa pitcher Aaron Kent had a large part in his team subduing the Santa Rosa Desperados, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Kent yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-1. Keegan Flay earned the save for Tampa, his 2nd of the year.

The Desperados had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Capitals going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman Ryan Mann came to the plate. Mann hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch changeup from Santa Rosa hurler Dave Golash. It was Mann's 7th home run of the year.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Mann told the Tampa Observer.

With the win, Tampa goes to 22-16, while the Desperados fall to 15-23.
