Rockets Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Capitals, 7-4
|
The Huntsville Rockets cut down the Tampa Capitals by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Nate Miller. Miller went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Rockets. Huntsville reliever Naohiro Goto picked up the win to move to 2-0. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. With the win over Tampa, the Rockets improved to 19-14.
Jesus Belcher came through with a big-time hit for Huntsville. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Huntsville manager Alec Roller was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
