Alex Gonzalez, who is tied for 4th in the N-A in innings pitched with 43.2, propelled his team to victory over the Huntsville Rockets. The final score was 4-3, Tampa. The winner was Dave Velez in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Rich Sargent took the loss. The 5th-place Capitals have won 4 consecutive games.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Tampa right fielder Zach Amos, facing Rich Sargent, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Capitals the 4-3 win.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Gonzalez.
