The Santa Rosa Desperados defeated the Tampa Capitals, 7-5, at Keelhaulers Ballpark. Santa Rosa shortstop Jessie Cable had a superb performance. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Santa Rosa reliever Eric Hansen snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Eddie Carver shouldered the loss. Tampa now is 14-13.
Russell D'Alessandro, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2022 draft, contributed to the Santa Rosa win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
In comments to the Santa Rosa Citizen, Cable admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
