Santa Rosa Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The fans at Keelhaulers Ballpark witnessed quite a game.
Due in large part to second baseman Rich Brown, the Santa Rosa Desperados sunk the Huntsville Rockets, 5-3. Brown was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. Santa Rosa reliever Idhma Kodandarami picked up the win to move to 1-0. Rich Sargent suffered the loss.
Santa Rosa got a knockout punch from Leo Cortez. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Brown.
The hot start continues for the defending champion Desperados. This was their 21st win in 28 games.
