Ricky Rodrguez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the St. Catharines Blue Jays from being beaten, 6-5, to the Tampa Capitals at Capitals Ballpark. Rodrguez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tampa pitcher Eric Volmar got the win. He's now 1-0. Joe Cohen was tagged with the loss. The loss puts St. Catharines at 10-11.

The Capitals got a big at-bat from third baseman Mickey Brown. For the game, Brown was 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Tampa a 5-4 lead.

Tampa manager Jayden Gamble was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
