In a tight affair between the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks and the Huntsville Rockets, pitcher Matt Lavender was in the zone. The Grand Rapids right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Satoshi Nishiyama picked up the win in relief for Grand Rapids, while Steve Gallagher took the loss. Huntsville is now 11-10.

Grand Rapids got a knockout punch from Jimmy Zanghi. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Zanghi told reporters after the game.
