Miners Turn Back Rockets, 4-2

The exploits of first baseman Ryan Burchett, who is tied for 7th in the N-A in triples with 1, helped the Glace Bay Miners defeat the Huntsville Rockets, 4-2. Burchett was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Glace Bay, at 15-5, is off to a blistering start.
Mike Raia went 1-3 for Glace Bay. The 22-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mike Bruce. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Glace Bay skipper Carlos Acevedo. "I can't complain."
