A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Huntsville Rockets and Glace Bay Miners.

Huntsville left-hander Derek Sigers pitched his team to victory over the Glace Bay Miners at Miners Memorial Bowl. The final score was 5-2. Sigers, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for R.J. Cashman? The Huntsville shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rockets on top, 3-0. For the game, Cashman had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
