Miners Win Nail-Biter in 11
The Glace Bay Miners knocked off the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 6-5, in Northern A action at Engineers Ballpark. Glace Bay pitcher and Copperas Cove, Texas, native Colin Andrus had an outstanding performance. The winner in relief was Matt Mullins. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The win puts Glace Bay at 5-0.

Collin Mays drove in one run for Glace Bay. With one out and the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, Mays had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Catharines hurler Rich Zavala, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Miners a 6-5 lead.
