Royals Squelch Tigercats Offense in Shutout Win
Starting pitcher David Tirado gave the Cornwall Royals a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Vail Tigercats, 3-0, at Vail Grounds. Tirado got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Bubba Byrne earned the save for Cornwall, his 5th of the year.

Ross Myer, who is tied for 2nd in the W-AA in total bases with 82, had a direct impact on the outcome. Myer contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Cornwall up, 2-0.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Cornwall skipper Jon Williams.

At 27-16, the Royals are currently second in the Western AA Central Division.
