Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old left fielder John Billings, the Augusta Capitols stopped the Sonoma Scorpions, 5-1. Omar Sotelo, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The Capitols, at 23-16, sit in first place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

It could have been a different outcome for Augusta, had it not been for Nick Owens, the 22-year old left fielder . Owens contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Augusta up, 2-1.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Billings. "Just do my job."
