Lewis goes 4-for-5 in Vail Win
The Vail Tigercats knocked off the Sonoma Scorpions, 9-3, at Vail Grounds. Jaden Lewis was a big reason Vail won. The center fielder went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jesus Howell got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Scorpions to 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The third-place Scorpions have lost 7 straight games.

John Thaxton had a big run-scoring triple for the Tigercats in the bottom of the second inning. With Vail leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Toigo and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigercats ahead, 3-1.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Sonoma manager Keith Young.
