The Cornwall Royals beat the Augusta Capitols, 5-3. Cornwall pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Mike Banks led the way. Banks, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Dan Kleinman collected his 7th save.

Neil Vicari helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Cornwall a 2-0 lead.

By defeating Augusta, the second-place Royals improved to 24-14.
