Ragin Cajuns Improve to 23-10 with 2-0 Win
|
Matt Brown pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Sonoma Scorpions, despite Brown's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Stockton Ragin Cajuns at Ballpark of Stockton. Stockton is now 23-10, 4½ games up in the Western AA Central Division.
Stockton shortstop Matthew Robertson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 34th hit of the season and put the Ragin Cajuns ahead, 2-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Keith Young. "That was the problem."
