Firecats Get One-Run Win at Cincinnati
|
Though he had a terrific game, Mark Rivera could not prevent his team, the Cincinnati Bombardiers, from absorbing a loss. Hialeah won the game, 5-4. Rivera went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Hialeah reliever John Pritt picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Eddie Sarabia was saddled with the loss. Hialeah is now 13-19, Cincinnati 15-17.
Hialeah used the hitting of Greg Martel to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Firecats on top, 5-2. For the game, Martel had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Martel.
