Capitols Popped by Royals, 6-2
|
The Cornwall Royals topped the Augusta Capitols, 6-2, in Western AA action at King George Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cornwall pitcher Ryan Klinck. The Cornwall win streak is now 3 games.
Ricardo Rivera had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Cornwall first baseman hit a 2-run single. That put the Royals in front, 4-2.
"Ryan was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Cornwall manager Keith Young.
