Bombardiers Come Back Late, Nip Firecats
|
Fans watched the Cincinnati Bombardiers and the Hialeah Firecats fight to the finish.
The Cincinnati Bombardiers earned a close win over the Hialeah Firecats, thanks in part to Jordan Odom. The Cincinnati right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the W-AA in quality starts with 4, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Bobby Maestas picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-2. John Gray suffered the loss.
Cincinnati took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Andrew Ojacarcu hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Bombardiers in front, 3-2.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Hialeah manager John Costa. "We just didn't cash in."
Cincinnati has now won 3 straight, while the Firecats have lost 3 in a row.
