Scorpions Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
The Sonoma Scorpions topped the Cincinnati Bombardiers by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was left fielder Cory Donaghy. Donaghy was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Scorpions. Jason Burget picked up the win in relief for Sonoma, while Heath Johnston took the loss. Cincinnati falls to 13-14.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Sonoma. That's when Nelson Mendoza hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Heath Johnston to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Mendoza attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
