Bryan Langel impressed in the 16-11 Augusta win over Hialeah. Langel went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Justin Cox earned the save, his 3rd. The Firecats drop to 9-18 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2024 season.

Gene Flood's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 8-8. The Augusta center fielder hit a 2-run single off Bobby Thacker to put the Capitols up.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Augusta manager Chris Clarke.
