Miami beat Augusta at The Capitol Dome, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Greg Moreno. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jose Ramirez picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 3 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Brent Kuest was credited with the save for Miami, his 4th of the season.

David Reed, who is tied for 3rd in the W-AA in doubles with 7, took Augusta hurler Paul Williamson deep in the top of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Boll Weevils on top, 3-1. In all, Reed had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
