Bombardiers Lose Late to Capitols
|
The Augusta Capitols picked up a win at Ballpark of Cincinnati, courtesy of Nolan Estes. The right-hander helped his team stop the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 3-1. Estes picked up the win for Augusta, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The win moves Augusta to a record of 13-9.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Matt Tindall came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Heath Johnston, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Augusta on top, 3-1.
Augusta manager Joel Braddock called it "a darn good win."
