Stockton turned a good effort from starter Gregorio Argueta into a win over the Vermont Milkmen at Emeralds Ballpark. The final score was 4-1. The winning pitcher was Argueta, now 3-1. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Jarred Gangi finished to wrap up his 7th save.
The Ragin Cajuns got a big at-bat from shortstop Willis Rivera. For the game, Rivera was 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Stockton a 2-0 lead.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Rivera.
The Milkmen fall to 7-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.
