The Miami Boll Weevils banked on John McClements and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the London hitters in check. The final score was 2-0, Boll Weevils. Miami pitcher Mike Brandon got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joel Daniels got the loss. Miami goes to 14-6.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Mike Ross, who is tied for 7th in the W-AA in doubles with 5, hit a double. The Boll Weevils went on to win.

"We've got a great group of guys," McClements said, "and we're having fun right now."
