Scorpions Squelch Firecats Offense in Shutout Win
The Hialeah Firecats went down to defeat to David Morris and his Sonoma teammates. The final score was 3-0, in favor of the Scorpions. Morris yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. The Firecats, now 4-14, continue their sluggish start.

Matt Evert had a big 2-run home run for the Scorpions in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Sonoma leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Casey Higgins and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Scorpions on top, 3-0.
