Vermont Charts 5-3 Win Over Cornwall
|
The Vermont Milkmen got a rain-soaked win over the Cornwall Royals.
The Vermont Milkmen beat the Cornwall Royals, 5-3, at Emeralds Ballpark. Vermont pinch hitter Chris Olsen had the hot bat. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Morgan Felty, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Elias Holguin recorded the save, his 2nd.
Olsen had a timely hit for Vermont in the bottom of the eighth. With Vermont trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-2, Vermont.
Olsen called the win "a pick-me-upper."
The Royals continue "in the red" at 5-11.
