Boll Weevils Squelch Scorpions Offense in Shutout Win
|
Sonoma had no answer for Miami Boll Weevils starter Gerardo Matute, who flummoxed Scorpions hitters as the Boll Weevils cruised to victory, 6-0. Sonoma is now 15-2.
In the bottom of the first inning, designated hitter Jeremy Beck had a grand slam home run for Miami. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Boll Weevils on top, 4-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Sonoma manager Keith Young.
