Bulldogs Get Close Win Over Firecats, 9-8
Despite a great performance by Hialeah third baseman Phil Verhaeghe, the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Firecats by the score of 9-8 at Mariachis Ballpark. Verhaeghe was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The Bulldogs with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 25-year old second baseman Adrian Fekety had a chance to be the hero. Hialeah pitcher Greg Gregor had other ideas. But with two outs, Fekety drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Bulldogs had themselves a dramatic win.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Fekety said.
