Tigercats Victors, 10-1, at St. Louis
|
The Vail Tigercats topped the St. Louis Cavalry, 10-1, at Cavalry Ballpark. Vail center fielder Dan Moody was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Danny Gonzales got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Ismael Resendez picked up the save for Vail, his 1st of the year.
The Tigercats got an important contribution from first baseman Ryan Anderson, who in the top of the third hit a full count cutter to right-center for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Tigercats ahead, 4-0.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Anderson told the Vail Gazette.
The Cavalry fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2024 season.
