Milkmen Rally to Nose Past Miami
|
Vermont and Miami played a hard-fought contest.
Vermont right-hander Sean Conant helped his team edge Miami by the score of 3-2. Conant kept the opposing lineup in check. Vermont reliever Matt Bogucki picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mark Crocker was tagged with the loss. Isaiah Borne picked up the save for Vermont, his 5th of the year.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Joe Morrison to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Milkmen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This team is on a mission," said Morrison, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
Miami falls to 3-6.
