The St. Louis Cavalry bombarded the Augusta Capitols, 14-1, at Cavalry Ballpark. Leading the blitz was Marcus Walkden. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for St. Louis. Adam Rosales got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Capitols to 1 run on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The win gives St. Louis a record of 1-1.

Tony Hernandez had a big 2-run double for the Cavalry in the bottom of the first inning. With St. Louis leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Hawes and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cavalry ahead, 4-1.

"I thought we'd at least be more competitive," said losing manager Chris Clarke.
