The Cincinnati Bombardiers beat the Sonoma Scorpions, 9-8, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Cincinnati center fielder Paul Nicolopoulos led the way. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The loss puts Sonoma at 1-2.

The Bombardiers benefited from a costly error in the top of the second. With Edward Salgado at bat and Cincinnati leading 2-0, the Sonoma miscue allowed Cincinnati to plate 2 and take the lead, 4-0.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Sonoma manager Jon Williams.
