Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the London Tigers home opener. Roger Rosendahl started for the home team against Jon Caruso for the Miami Boll Weevils. The Tigers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-2, Miami. Roger Rosendahl, though, was impressive. Getting the save was Justin Farrell, his 1st.

Miami used the timely hitting of Jeremy Beck to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Boll Weevils on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Miami manager Bill Murtha praised his team's "businesslike approach."
