The Mesa Razor Sharks defeated the Riverside Rotters, 5-3, at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Mesa right fielder Isaac Williams had a superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mesa reliever Victor Benavidez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-5. Pete Mead was saddled with the loss. The 4th-place Razor Sharks hiked their record to 74-64.
Williams had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 changeup from Pete Mead, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Razor Sharks a 5-3 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Williams.
Williams called the win "a team effort."
