The exploits of right fielder Mark Stella, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in stolen bases with 15, helped the Mesa Razor Sharks defeat the Fresno Running Rebels, 7-1. Stella hit 2 home runs. By defeating Fresno, the third-place Razor Sharks improved to 77-62.

Early in the game, Stella had a solo home run for Mesa. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Razor Sharks on top, 1-0.

Said Fresno manager Jayden Edwards: "We ran into a buzz saw."
